Trade between UK and Germany at 5th rank despite Brexit

Trade between the UK and Germany
The Bundesbank's most recently published revised figures again show the strong bilateral British-German trade to be the fifth largest of all German bilateral trade relationships, after the US, the Netherlands, France and China.

The total bilateral trade including goods and services in 2018 was € 176 bn, slightly down
by 2.6% from € 181 bn in 2017 due to reduced goods demand in UK, mainly related to Brexit uncertainty.

Bilateral Trade Details

Trade in Goods
Of the bilateral trade in 2018, total trade in goods alone was € 124 bn, down by 5% from 2017.
